🎉 We’re delighted to share some big news: The Climate Label is here!
Over the past year, The Change Climate Project conducted a careful process to update our certification label in tandem with the evolution of our Standard. Beginning in 2025, certifying companies will start to earn our new label: The Climate Label. This new label will, over time, replace the Climate Neutral Certified label.
🚀 Summary: Transition to The Climate Label

💡 Throughout this Guide we refer to the Label and to Marketing Claims. The Label refers to the image files of the certification label. Marketing Claims refers to the words you use to describe your climate work.

- Starting in August 2024, all certified entities should begin planning to transition from the Climate Neutral Certified label to The Climate Label. You may also choose to update your Marketing Claims. This transition will take place across all marketing channels.
- Starting January 2025, all certified entities may begin using The Climate Label publicly.
- By the end of 2025, all certified entities must complete the transition to The Climate Label for all newly produced packaging, products, and other marketing assets.
- There is flexibility in this transition window to account for many different, company-specific timelines and plans. Your plan should minimize costs and limit the timeframe in which you are using different versions of Labels and Marketing Claims across your marketing.
- ⚠️ For product companies: We strongly recommend updating your digital Labels and Marketing Claims on or before the date that a majority of your in-market physical Labels and Marketing Claims will be updated.
